“Paris is always a Good Idea” — Audrey Hepburn

Paris is one of the most sort after destinations to travel to, at least from my social circle. Yet, somehow it never made it to the top on my travel list. I’m sure that’s because of my obsession and life-long-desire to first, finish experiencing all The 7 Wonders of the World and all My 7 Natural Wonders of the World, in addition to The Pyramids of Egypt (the only remaining wonder from the Ancient World).

After a few months of planning and confirming leave from office for all of us, my family finally decided to take that dream trip to Europe. Was I totally up for it? Well, honestly… No! Why? None of the destinations fell under my “wonder list”. But I had to say yes, because it’s hard to get quality family time in today’s busy world, let alone a debut trip to a brand new continent, and also, fortunately, The Colosseum in Rome was part of the itinerary, one of the new 7 wonders

We landed at the Charles de’Gaulle Airport in Paris after a stop-over at Frankfurt via Abu Dhabi from Mumbai, flying the brilliant Etihad. We stayed over at the Hotel Campanile Roissy, close to the airport. I’d say that was not the best decision, as you’d need to travel for about an hour to the Paris Centre. Taking a hotel in the centre of the city, might be expensive, so you will have to manage your preferences. At the end of the day, this was good, coz once you leave the hotel, you’d not wanna come back all the way, unless its an emergency, and why not let yourself explore the beauty of this brilliant city!

Back here in India, its dark dusk by 8pm for sure, but in Paris, it was a weird shock to me to have dinner in bright light!

The towering presence of well… The Eiffel Tower, the food, the desserts, the architecture, the beautiful people, fashion fashion (too much fashion!), the glorious monuments that reflect such rich culture and every glance of the city allows to dissolve in the glorious heritage of the French civilisation. Will tell you more in a detailed post soon.

The image above is a photograph I clicked from a moving bus, through Paris Centre, close to The Louvre! Can you believe that?! Check the rest of my photography here.
